So you've booked your trip to Barbados and scheduled a surf lesson. What’s next?

Preparing for Your Surf Adventure

Let's dive into some essential tips that I've gathered from over 20 years of working with travelers like you. Preparation is key!

If you’re traveling to Barbados by plane and have already secured your accommodations, please inform us of your location and a contact number. This information is crucial in case there’s a cancellation or any mishap affecting your lesson. If you stay at our oceanfront apartments, you can relax knowing we will keep you updated. Your Surf Experience Awaits

After you've checked in and settled, we will discuss what to expect during your surf experience. We’ll also help you choose a board that’s suitable for learning.

Many people opt for our 6-hour surf package. This package is ideal if you're staying for 5 to 7 days. It's best to spread this out over three days with two hours each day. While some ask to complete it all in one day, we don’t recommend that. The sun can be intense, and the waves can be more challenging than you realize. Most students find that two hours of surfing is just right!

Essential Gear for Surfing

Don't forget the essentials! Sunblock is vital. Additionally, we recommend wearing a rash vest. This helps to protect your skin from the sun's rays and prevents the wax on the board from irritating your chest.

Always stay hydrated before and after your lessons. Drink plenty of water and limit alcohol the night before each session. Your well-being is our priority.

The main goal is to enjoy yourself while learning a new skill. Always stay close to your instructors. If you're feeling unwell or anxious, please communicate with your instructor. Your comfort and safety are paramount.

Practice Makes Perfect

Included in our 6-hour surf package is board rental for the entire week. This means you can practice on your own when not with the surf instructor.

Tips for an Enjoyable Surfing Experience

  1. Stay Patient: Mastering surfing takes time and practice. Don't rush the process.

  2. Communicate: Speak up if you have questions or need assistance.

  3. Have Fun: Enjoy the learning experience. Each wave you catch will bring new joy.
